You may be thinking…What does it mean?
Today I was again re-reading the famous book “7 Habits of highly effective people” By Stephen R Covey again. It is the second habit. Here I will try share my understanding with you as per my experience.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Here writer have asked its readers to imagine a situation where you need to imagine that you are died and the people have gathered around your dead body to show the sympathy and courage to your relatives as well as to remember your memories.
One of your friends has started to share his experiences about you. Then one of your colleague, then your wife, then your son, then your daughter. What would you like to hear then? What are the feelings which are coming out? Even the number of people who have gathered could be a criterion.
You can easily say that these feelings are good or bad or even the numbers of people who have gathered will solely upon your own behavior as well as work done for your relative, friends and society as a whole. Can you feel a change in your approach towards life when you just do this exercise every time you take a decision or utter a word for conversation with anybody?
If you do this exercise honestly, I can bet you that every decision of your life will be right. Here I am not going to into details of what is right or wrong because it is really a relative term. But the word right here is to say that your innersole will support the decisions you will take then.
This habit actually involves the most powerful force of the universe which we all have.
What it is?
Creative imagination.
When you were doing earlier exercise, what you were actually doing is creative imagination. You have created that picture in your mind that this is what happening with me.
Everything you achieve in life actually happens twice. Once when you create or visualize in your mind and second when you actually create physically which others can see. An example, whenever a builder wants to create a building, what he does is to hire an architect and share his imagination of his own building first. Then and then only, his contractor build his building. And the result is a building as per his imagination.
This drives me to share another use of creative imagination and that is “Leadership”.
A good leader uses creative imagination at its best. Whether the effect of his words on to one person or to his group or it is related with the farsightedness which is badly required to see the good or bad which is coming towards his group or society.
In conclusion, you can easily imagine how important to have this habit of “Begin with the end in mind” for our lives. This simple habit has the power to change the lives of billions.
I request you to use it for you as well as share this thought and article for the good of your friend, family and the world.
